Default Hack n Tap Question

I bought the Iron Rock Offroad HnT kit already but have a question and not sure how id go about it. I currently have a d35 rear axle and down the road say in 5-6 months i plan to do 4:56 gears and lockers and while doing that i plan to swap the d35 for a 8.25. My question is if i install the HnT while the d35 is on will it affect any driveline issues when i swap it out with the 8.25?

I don't think you'll have any issues, what drive shaft are you using in the rear? The only difference I can think of is that the 8.25 has a longer connection than the D35

That's the problem you could have....if the D35 pinion shaft/flange is shorter (which I think) then the 8.25, then when you put in your 8.25, the shaft might be too long.

When I got my Iron Rock Offroad HnT kit, my lift kit wasn't install, so didn't have the measurements (for proper measurements, vehicle needs to be on its wheel with weight on).

Then following installation of my lift kit, when I installed my hack n tap, the d-shaft was a bit too long. I just had it cut and balanced at a shop (about 75$).

So no major issue, you just might have to have it customized a bit. Just go a head with the modification and deal with it when you have the 8.25 in!

How much difference in length are we talking about, 1/2"?

No matter your rear axle, an auto front driveshaft will have enough slip in it to work with either axle, no worries.

Don't over-think it!
