For the guys that have HD OME springs
OK, so I've been searching around and it seems no one has actually discussed what I'm looking for. I'm going to put some OME 2" springs on my Jeep and I'm leaning toward the HD leafs, but maybe the medium as I want to pull trailers.
My question is this, how much suspension travel do you get before you hit the overload spring and the spring rate jacks up? 0.5"...1"... 2"? I want a nice ride for my DD but I want to be able to support a load when I load it up with a trailer or camping goodies etc.
Has anyone driven rigs with HD and light or medium springs and can share how they compare "by the seat of your pants"?
Have you noticed the overload springs having any tendency to snag on things since it's bent down?

Put a set of the 2" HD on my dads. With monroe sensatracs the ride is about the same as stock. With 4 people and some gear in it it still rides good.

There is a chart on here somewhere on the spring rate. I think standards are 0-200 befor the ovreload and mids are 350 and hd are 500 and up. Look for the chart its on here

You talking about a chart weight in/on the back of the vehicle? If so, I've not run across that in my searching. If you could point me in the right direction I would like to see it. I've seen the raw spring rates of the different sets and the first stage of the HD springs are actually softer than the light duty springs. That's why I'm wondering where they ride in their travel when the Jeep is empty. If they are up off the overload spring where the suspension has to collapse a couple inches before contacting it, it should ride nicer than the light springs, but if it only takes like a half inch before you hit the overload spring they'll be a bit rough. That's essentially what I'm trying to figure out.

If its real stiff I gotta stay away I don't tow and have crappy roads in ohio need somewhat of a smooth ride to drive it daily. I might try some ome springs when I get new ones

Yea I've seen a chart. It said something about the hds hittin it sooner to make it stiff and the lights don't hit it until its real heavy but they aren't meant to haul heavy loads because the other leafs go bad and the overload takes a lot of pressure after that
