Grinding Noise & starting issue
I have a 00 xj that I just had a 3inch BDS lift put on. Since that I have this grinding sound only when I take my foot off the gas and am coasting around 40 mph. Sounds like it is coming from the transfer case area. No vibes or anything else just this grinding growl of a noise.
Also ..I have been having an issue with starting..its really hit or miss which makes it hard to get looked at since the two times i have taken it into a shop they say "nope it didnt act up at all for me" lol figures...so maybe a couple times a week when i start it up it will start then immediately stall. Then when i turn it over again it starts up no problem usually...other times it will start right up then stall at lights or when putting it into reverse to pull out...
Something else ive been noticing is that the oil pressure is different everytime i drive it ...sometimes it will be max at 80 sometimes 50 ..its all over the place.
Any ideas?

the oil pressure thing sounds like a bad sending unit. The one in my 96 is right next to the oil filter and I have to be careful not to damage it when changing oil filters. When it went bad on me once, my gauge would read max anytime I touched the gas, but would flop around and move randomly when I would let off the gas. That's an easy fix if that's what it is.
The starting issue could be fuel pressure like a bad fuel pump, but it also could be a sensor like the crankshaft position sensor mentioned before. Gonna take some testing to narrow that down since it's intermittent.
