Dont, its not worth it. The housings are aluminum and you cant weld perches on it like a traditional steel axle. They are also pretty weak. Id go for a 8.8 from a ford, its about the correct width and a lot tougher than the factory 35 or 8.25

the housing is aluminum, not the tubes so in theory you can weld perches on, but its not worth it.

Ah I didnt know that I thought the whole thing was alum. Either way there is almost no aftermarket support for it. You can also spin the tubes in the housing. Id also imagine the alum flexing pretty maybe messing it up. You could truss it I suppose, but at that rate you might aswell have gotten a real d44 or 8.8.

Eh, its pretty stout when trussed well. Its actually got bigger R&P then iron d44's. I trussed and Lincoln locked my buddies and he beats on it with 35's. But it pales in comparison to an 8.8.

its probably stronger than people give it credit for, but theres no point in doing to fab work needed to put it in an XJ when youd have to do the same amount or work for an 8.8

I do think it would be a good cheap upgrade for 4.0 ZJ's with the D35 turd in the back

If I owned one.. I would build a truss that ties into the dif cover bolts and goes flange to flange on the axle. Tha being said.. offer 50 bucs for it and build a truss and call it good
