Default Good CB Antenna for offroading?

Hey guys right now I have s firestik 4' antenna for my XJ. The red cap fell off, and now i have no cap on it. Whats a good one for offforading because its too have to where it bends the mounts. If i put a spring on it, it hits the side of the Jeep, so what should i do?

I have one and wheeling the other day bent it back about 60 degrees on trees all day. didn't break.
Downside is that mine won't hold a tune, but my friend's does.

I end up folding my 108" whip down at the trail head. It's annoying to hear a tennis ball beat against the jeep all day.

i run a 3ft antenna. i also lost the cap on mine. all it is, is a weather cap to keep water out of the wrapping. i just wrapped some electrical tape around it and works just fine for over a year.

You cant go wrong with a whip antenna. I have broke numerous firesticks on the trails in my TJ. When I sold it and my tow rig, I pulled the big magnetic based Wilson off of my F250 and put it on top of my XJ and have never had a problem with it. Plus I think I get better reception with a whip anyway.

i'm an advanced class amatuer radio operator and been one for over 30 years...the best ant is one that is installed correctly....keep it simple stay away from gimmicks, like phase loading ,etc....1st is a good ground to bare metal with some of rc's contact greese....seal against water ....pwr out is not a cure'all....run a quality rig and u'll get out as good as any one...google qrz and see what they got...gl 73's johnp
