Default Going from carburated to efi fuel injected?

I have a 1984 jeep Cherokee xj. 4.5 inch lift on 33s. I am running a little 2.5l 4 banger. The old carb was swapped out by the previous owner and he did a terrible job. Being a 4 cylinder I could use a couple more hp. I was wondering how hard would it be to go to efi fuel injected? Could it work? I haven't found any kits and probably won't find them. Could i get a list of parts required or a shop in Oregon that could do it? anything helps!

Why not upgrade to a Weber Carb.

I'm wondering if you could adapt a later model 4 cylinder EFI to your engine. If you used all jy parts it should be cheap, if it worked.

that weber carb is what im running now. my engine has to have well over 200k. you think thats why i cant pass traffic on the freeway? I was just thinking of changing the whole fuel system since no one has probably changed the fuel filter or pump.

You'll need to do a FULL swap....your bell housing has no cut-out for the CPS, for example.
Full harness and ignition and fuel supply.......etc..........

Not as easy as you think.

Do a V6 swap or other...........

Throttle body injected is doable but won't get you the gains

A v6 i heard is horrible but i want to look for a 89 donor vehicle with the 4.0l straight 6 and do a full swap. I'm tired of this ****ty fuel system always wants to die out on me. Because the enigene i have now the previous owner did an egr delete and all the vacuum lines. i really don't want to get rid of the jeep because it has value my grandfather wanted me to make it a good clean offroad trail jeep, and he just passed.

My local junkyard has a wrecked 4 cylinder 12 vavle 4bt cummins dodge that is cheap and complete from the 90s all the motor and electronics are good. what about a diesel swap? That would be cool

Will the 4bt weights 750lbs same weight as a big block chevy. If you off road you will have a nose heavy rig which isn't good. And no one makes any swap parts for it so your stuck doing it all yourself.Or they do make v8 swap parts you can run a 350 carb or tbi a 700r4 and a 90s truck np241.
