Default Gearing Help

whats up everybody.
Im getting ready to order the gears and everything i need to go with them... but after searching all day im still not 100% sure what all i should get.

The jeep is a 97 xj sport. 8.25 rear and dana 30 front. going with 4.56 grears.
What all should i order so that in have ererything i need to keep my jeep reliable?

so far im thinking:

A full gear package like this

http://ktperformance.net/i-15049174-...FU5rfgodbmMA1A
or this
http://www.thejeephut.com/jeep-chero...grade-package/

Rear alloy axle shafts (should i get front as well?)
http://www.thejeephut.com/alloy-usa-...-rh-8-25-inch/

and a new carrier case
http://www.race-mart.com/Yukon_Gear-...C52069428.html

also, how do i know how many spline for the ring, pinion and axle shaft?

Anything i am missing? what do you guys thing? any help is much obliged

front...27 spline
rear...'97+ 8.25 should be 29 spline
you shouldn't need to swap out the rear carrier (that you have listed in your post)
the front carrier you will have to swap out

i think those prices are a little on the high side
i was looking at a Yukon 4.56 front and rear, plus rebuild kit, plus front carrier and was well under $1000

You will need a full gear set and a carrier to go to 4.56. If I recall above 3.73 numerically you need the carrier, also. Shafts are up to you. You will also need a PROFESSIONAL axle shop to do the work, if reliability is a concern. Gearing is not a job for the DIY'r that has to ask ANY question beyond which gear is right for my tires. If you have questions about HOW to do the job, you are NOT capable of completing the job.

You have some stuff you don't need.

1) keep your original rear carrier
2) keep your original rear axle shafts

Your do need:
1) d30 front carrier
2) seals (and maybe bearings) for the wheel side bearings on the rear

I'm preparing to do much the same. Rockauto had the best gear prices I found.

will the Dana 30 carrier that SeriousOffroad listed above work for me if I am not replacing the original spider gears?

That will take care of everything you need, for less$ and in some cases higher quality parts then some others offer...

Ask around, my deals cant be beat and you get the Right high quality parts the first time, and fast...

I bought my gear package from Rustys Off Road and everything came with it, both master install kits included D3 /C8.25 4.56 (replaced 3.55's). Front carrier not needed as I installed Detroit Lockers in both.

I thought his prices were very fair and I have used Motive gears in the past in Drag Race and Circle Track Cars up to 1300+HP (very few 2 sets at 1300+).

But at 4x4 usage I have no idea as I'm very new at the sport so they may be a poor choice time will tell.

The Yukon premium 4.88's I bought from you are quiet as can be. Set up was a breeze as well.
