Default GC V-8 in a XJ?

Can a Grand Cherokee V-8 bolt up to a XJ AW4 & motor wiring be the same? I talked to a guy @ the JY & he said he did 2/3 (?) of these a few years ago.Used exisisting wiring & did NOT move the motor mounts. Is he full of *****? Or what?

he's probably full of it, and anyways someone did the math on the 5.2 v8 swap and you only gain like 40hp, and it's a lot of work to put it in for 40hp

The 4.7HO would be epic in an xj, the normal 4.7 in my wj made my old 5.2 feel like a 4 cylinder.

Go with a GM small block or LS engine if you want a V8 Jeep

The AW4 will not bolt up to the 5.2.

A little off topic but nearing the same concept, I did read about a bada** ZJ with a 5.7L HEMI swap. He had to change out the transmission too if I'm not mistaken but he had some serious low end torque and pretty good top end too..
