GC driveshaft in XJ
Someone is selling a ''completely rebuilt" GC driveshaft, asking 150$ obo.
Ill ask about the pricing in another thread.
Anyway, its just slightly longer than my rear DS, maybe a couple inches. More importantly it has a double u joint setup on one end, and a sliding yoke on the other, with a 3rd u joint. Looms identical to my front DS on my 87.
Is this the replacement that would work for my truck? Or should I look for another one that would work better?

Kinda hard to answer your question.. without knowing lengths.
How much lift you shooting for? Find someone with like lift, ask for their collapsed and extended lengths and compare to the one you found.

And I'm shooting for about 5" of lift WITH a SYE. Which makes me think getting a DS that is only a couple inches longer isn't gonna help me.

I think wiggles means that with an SYE the stock front is good for up to 4.5" inches, and the GC one will work with 4.5" to i don't know, so the couple of inches the GC one has should do fine, I see that a lot of sye's have a rebuilt stock front as an option up to so many inches

Not all GC shafts are longer. My 93 with a 4L was the same length and they go for $20-$50 for a decent shaft around here. 10 bucks at pull a part.

im running about 4.5 front and 6.5 rear and my shaft measured 33" so you very well could be fine depending one what a "few" inches means.

I just bought an old GC driveshaft off of ebay for $36 and i spend the good part of a weekend getting the old ujoints out and cleaning it all up with a dremel tool and painting it. then i put new u joints in it and it looks just like a brand new shaft. this thing is also very very beefy!! it is 33inches from u joint to u joint. it came off of a 93 GC with a V8. it extends to 36" witch is what i need because i have the ax-15 which is 2 inches shorter than the AW4s. just waiting on my JB conversions SYE to some in. I cant wait. and I save $310 instead of buying a tom woods shaft. But when i eventually go up to 6.5Inches of lift i will have to call tom woods to get a longer more HD shaft. Look on ebay for a little longer and find a cheaper used shaft and rebuild it. didnt take too long and save the $100! unless u\you need it soon. then go ahead and buy this one!

And I sure as hell wasn't gonna pay 150$ for his. Check my other thread for the scoop.
I've got a line on a much cheaper one.

To the OP, idk how you would but also check the length of the d44 you have. I know for sure that d35 and c8.35 are different lengths so the d44 will probably be too. c8.25 is like 3" or so longer (closer to tcase) than a d35. I guess the best method would be to install the SYE and measure what you need.
