fuel pressure regulator

well i need a new fuel pressure regulator and im not sure where its at or what brand to get or anything about them,so anything will help yall

The fuel pressure regulator is located on the fuel rail mine is in the very front but I don't know if it differs for the years. Mine is an 01 but you can't miss it. There is a vacuum hose that runs to it. As for brand I wouldn't know

i found it yesterday and it look like everything was in place, but how do i check to see if it still good?

While the Jeep is running disconnect the vacuum from the regulator and if raw fuel leaks from where the vacuum connects then its bad if its dry then its still good

well i just did that and its fine,so i guess that aint the reason for my slow starts then

What year is your Jeep?

xjmuddigger 03-05-2011 05:49 PM

its a 1991 4.0 HO

xjclassic01 03-05-2011 06:18 PM

The problem is a slow start can be caused by a number of things ( coolant temp sensor, idle air control, crankshaft position sensor, losing fuel pressure when it sits) its not gonna be fun but if you do some searching there is a way to test all the sensors that way your not throwing a bunch of money at it

ok thanx, ill check them one at a time and go from there
