Years back I installed a fuel cell with an external fuel pump but could never get the fuel gauge to work. I have tested the sending unit and it is working properly, I checked the gauge function by holding odometer and turning key on, the fuel gauge steps in 1/4 tank increments but when running it stays on empty. Does anyone know the color of the fuel sending wire on a 98xj? I believe I have the correct wire but am thinking there is a break somewhere between the gauge and sending unit, also I cannot get the cluster out due to interior cage. Thanks in advance fellas.

 

I'm taking a gander at the XJR fuel injector R&I record... should the extricating of the nut (2) in sync 3 truly give enough clearence to eliminate the injectors that are situated underneath the charge coolers? The hole between the cooler and valve cover looks rather close.
