Default Front suspention upgrades?

Well I got under my jeep to look at how bad the suspension was messed up... the tie rod is bend causing the tires to be crooked. The left front shock is bent. Also the differential has a crack in it no idea how that happened! I was wondering since I am going to have the front diff out what should I upgrade in my suspension while i have it out? I am already planning on getting a ZJ tie rod to replace it. Should i get new ball joints? Adjustable control arms? What shocks should I get. I don't want to put it back together and have to tear it all apart again because I did not fix something. I am thinking of doing a budget DIY lift while it is apart any suggestions would be appreciated. You can see my build thread here https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/ne...4/#post3492493

I also picked up this for $60 to replace my cracked one. It is a Dana 30 from a 2000 cherokee hope to clean it and paint it soon.

Default Rust

Ok will do I took a brief look and it did not look too bad. definitely not completely rusted out like most cars around here. I am planning on doing some type of coating underneath to help protect it. POR15?

From your other thread that vehicle has substantial front end damage. If, as it appears, the differential was shoved towards the PS it may require at least a rack to straighten or it might only be suitable as a parts donor. Best of luck.

Yes, I am new here as you can tell. How do I tell if the unibody is bent? I assume a visual inspection is not good enough?

Just messing with you.

You could have a shop check it. Or you could try and take some measurements in various locations shown in Turbo's post and compare them. A basic check you can do is to make a chalk mark on the road exactly at the bottom of each wheel where it contacts the road. Then measure the diagonals left front to right rear and right front to left rear and compare the measurements. Same as when your laying out say a building foundation. See how they compare. Not real precise but should tell if it's way out.

Honestly, the only way you are going to be able to tell is have a body-shop put it on a chassis alignment machine. You could grab a tape measure as well, but it will be hard unless you strip some of the front end panels off (bumper, header panel, fenders)

I would verify that it is a clean chassis before I put too much time into building it up. Not sure what that costs at a body shop/collision repair center, but i cant imagine it being that expensive
