Default Front Shock Mount

This may be a "F*** NO!" kind of questions but I have to ask.

I just put my 4.5" front lift on with new LCA. I see/think what limiting my drop is the LCA is hitting my front shock mount on the inside corner. My shocks seam to have a little left in them and the coil is still tight at full drop.

My question is does anyone know if I could grind the inside shocks mount a bit just for clearance, or am I going to weaken it too much?

Yea you can clearence a little. Don't have an exact amount but I'm pretty sure plenty of people have done it.

Does any one know how much I can trim? Maybe a picture to show what/ how much you cut off.

Maybe grind a little off where it's hitting but not to much.
I did this before meaning to reinforce what was left but before I got around to it one mount sheared off.

I really don't recommend it though.. I don't think there's much of a gain.

Control Arm Drop Brackets would solve that problem and others as well as improve ride and performance and will give full droop. But then the stock steering becomes the 'limiting strap' if you have 10" travel shocks.

I have not gotten that far yet. Still "green". Who would you recommend for LCA drop bracket.

Ps: I will be doing WK knuckle swap when I get the time.

There are only 3 companies that make Drop Brackets. And they relocate all 4 control arms. Rubicon Express seems to be the preferred choice.
1) Rubicon Express
2) Rocky Road Outfitters
3) Rough Country

If you have not heard of the Currie steering system, it's worth a look. Bolts in and corrects the steering geometry of a lifted Jeep.

Just checked Rubicon Express' site. They have a listing for CAD but don't show them for any Jeep at all.
Just an FYI
If you go the CAD route don't get Rocky Road!
