Front drive shaft in rear
Hey all, i just finished my hack n tap to find that my front DS is about 2-3 inches to short.. I got to thinking about it and thought about how autos are longer then manuals, so I went and measured my neighbors 89 xj with an auto to find that its almost an inch and a half longer then my 89 with a 5 speed. Just wondering if anyone has managed to use the front shaft of an automatic in the rear of a manual xj. Any help appreciated, thanks!

wont work, you can only use the front driveshaft from an xj in the rear if its an auto. sorry to be the barrier of bad news.

Ugh... I really don't want to pay 300+ for a drive shaft... Anyone have any suggestions of a good company to buy from? I know its easy to get a shaft shortened, how about lengthening? Is there ANY cheaper alternative then getting a new shaft? Any junkyard shaft?

Same question here but mine is a 91 & its a 2 door. Is the length between the rear dif & the trans the same on the 2 door & 4 door?
