front drive shaft
Ok guys I might be stupid or some thing but I am tryin to replace my ujoints and for some season I can not pull the shaft out from the tcase any ideas
you did unbolted it correct? lol
Ya I did is it locked in the t case some how
it is bolted to the t-case as well as the axle.
if you did remove the bolts from the t-case, you may need to use a small pry bar between the u-joint and the yoke. |
Can you just press them out? Without removing the shaft?
Is there any way I can take the yoke out of the tcase

I have little room and before I bought it the striped two bolt heads and you can't get a socket in there
The front yoke does not come out of the t-case unless you remove and disassemble the t-case........
The rear yoke slides in and out of the t-case, unless someone has installed a slip-yoke-eliminator You could put a jack under the t-case to hold it up, and remove the crossmember. You'd have plenty of room to access them then. |
that looks like its gona be a pain. probably cant get vice grips in there either?
You can get them on but you can't turn them the vise grip and I put liquid wrench on them and still nothin. But if You look close between the d30 and tcase the is three u joints my blazer only has to my dads f150 had two so I am lost here
And I would have to put a jack under the tranny not the tcase
So any thoughts on it if I just change out the u joints that does not help with the striped heads
cut the heads of the bolts off if a 6 point 5/16 wrench wont work
ya they won't work the 5/16 won't work. Is the threads just in the back not the yoke
