Front D44 from drums to disc QUESTION??
I have stumbled across a couple of front D44 out of a 71 and 73 bronco, both have drum brakes. I know there are some conversions out there but 4-5 hundred is a bit steep for me, are there any other solutions you guys have came across? Thanks

If it's open knuckle, don't remember when they swapped over from closed, find the knuckle out from a later model D44. You'll need knuckles, spindles, stubs, caliper bracket, caliper rotor, lockouts etc.

In other words it'd be cheaper to just find one with disc. The go for 100-300 around here for full size and waggy versions. I did see a 44/9" from an EB on c-list a while back for 250 but you don't come across them often. FYI they are a bit narrower than stock XJ axles.

Hmmm maybe I just find a later model 44, however it also had a 9 inch, but I already have the 8.8 installed so not so much worried bout that

Yes I knew they were narrower but for the price if the parts to covert, I will look a later model 44 with discs

Take a look at http://www.bronco.com/technical/upgr...c_brakes.shtml And part numbers http://www.emotoman.com/disc/discbrake1.htm
