front bumpstops
I have a '90 cherokee that we put 4.5" of lift and 35s on. Im looking at what my options are for front bumps. Ive heard the prothane bumps are good but im worried about running them solely as a bump. This is a trail rig only. I also like the daystar extended ones but im unsure if I need the smaller diameter or the larger ones, does anyone know for my year? What is everyone's opinion? I feel like the daystar will be too short but the prothanes will just flop around (and they're expensive).

I have had both and I can not tell a difference. I just removed shorter prothane ones and installed the daystar ones. They both do the same job.
. Links or pictures?
I will say the front ones (stock) are horrid. They are too soft.

For 97-01, use these: http://www.quadratec.com/products/76058_074X_PG.htm
I think earlier models will use these, but it still doesn't hurt to measure: http://www.quadratec.com/products/76058_74X_PG.htm
Then you can always add on a puck on the bottom.

I just did this the other day. I used the measurement of the shock at full compression to figure out how much bump stop I needed.
I drilled a 5/16" hole through the coil pad and used 2 or 3 hockey pucks with a long bolt going through them. Worked mint, super easy and cheap. I kept the oem bump stops up top.

The Prothanes will also need a 'cap' to cover the 1.5" center hole.
I bolted a small stack of 1.5" diameter washers in the coil bucket. This holds the prothanes secure.

That rear bump is cantilevered off the plate, when impacted that plate can break the u-bolt. Is there a leg under that plate to support it against the axle tube?
