Default front bumpstops

I have a '90 cherokee that we put 4.5" of lift and 35s on. Im looking at what my options are for front bumps. Ive heard the prothane bumps are good but im worried about running them solely as a bump. This is a trail rig only. I also like the daystar extended ones but im unsure if I need the smaller diameter or the larger ones, does anyone know for my year? What is everyone's opinion? I feel like the daystar will be too short but the prothanes will just flop around (and they're expensive).

Flex the suspension and measure for the correct one.

I use hockey pucks on the bottom. My buddy has those fancy billet adjustable ones. Don't make any difference on the trail. As long as you stop the tire from rubbing you are golden.

For the rears I use daystar stock replacement mounted on a extended plate over top of my springs.

Well that isnt necessarily an option until im on the trails. But what are your opinion on either of the 2 different types of bumps? Thats really going to sway my decision the most.

Well my stock front bumps are destroyed so they need to be replaced anyway. So i was thinking A: replace with daystars and run pucks or B: run prothanes. Thats mainly what my question was. I just didn't know what kind of bumpstop size my '90 has for front bumps. Searching returns results saying i have either large or small.

As for the rear, Ive already gotten that under control

I have had both and I can not tell a difference. I just removed shorter prothane ones and installed the daystar ones. They both do the same job.

. Links or pictures?

I will say the front ones (stock) are horrid. They are too soft.

Loading dock, RTI Ramp, tall floorjack....any of these can be used to flex your suspension.

Either one is fine.

For 97-01, use these: http://www.quadratec.com/products/76058_074X_PG.htm

I think earlier models will use these, but it still doesn't hurt to measure: http://www.quadratec.com/products/76058_74X_PG.htm

Then you can always add on a puck on the bottom.

I just did this the other day. I used the measurement of the shock at full compression to figure out how much bump stop I needed.

I drilled a 5/16" hole through the coil pad and used 2 or 3 hockey pucks with a long bolt going through them. Worked mint, super easy and cheap. I kept the oem bump stops up top.

I use both. The Daystars are hard rubber. Cut them down to stock length and use the cut-offs inside the prothanes for a final stop. Some folks use UHMW-PE (dense plastic) inside them as a final stop.
The Prothanes will also need a 'cap' to cover the 1.5" center hole.

I bolted a small stack of 1.5" diameter washers in the coil bucket. This holds the prothanes secure.

Did it twist/break off at the threads? Over-torqued
That rear bump is cantilevered off the plate, when impacted that plate can break the u-bolt. Is there a leg under that plate to support it against the axle tube?
