front bumper or half doors?

I currently have half doors and a home made front bumper. I have an opportunity to trade my half doors for a bumper I used to have that I still kick myself for selling. Question is, what would you guys do? Keep the half doors or trade them for the bumper? I only have one pic of the bumper. It isn't a very good pic but you can kind of see it.

I would pass and save up to buy a winch bumper.

No job man. My wife works while I stay home with two kids. And where I wheel, I would never use a winch. I got stuck twice and both times, I was a mile from the nearest tree or obstacle that I could wrap a winch cable around

I just make sure I don't wheel alone anymore

Poor-mans winch anchor is a spare tire with tree saver strap, buried in the dirt/sand. Then use hi-lift as a winch or the real thing. Works well.

Not sure why you're asking us. Only YOU can decide what you'll use more. A the way you made it seem, you can just make half doors again. You do have a lot of time to do it. So this is something YOU should sit down and decide

What is best for the kids? Seems like the half doors and no fender flares create a spray of debris off the front tires that is directed towards the child seat in back.

Uh yup lol. I had some fun this last weekend and let me tell you I should have closed my rear windows  I think kids safety should be top priority. It would in my book.

I don't wheel with my kids and that's the only time I have my half doors on. I would have already made some new doors but my welder burns through the door skin so I can't plate any new ones and I can't afford the $50 a door a junkyard wants. Reason I ask the forum is I want my half doors but I also want some better recovery points

Well then get better recovery points. Get hooks. There's a member that sells good recover d ring mounts that go to the stock brackets plus the additional several points. Go check the vendor sections. If we give you our opinion, you may choose wrong cause it OUR opinion. It's your jeep. There's many ways to find a median point. And since you stay at home, do what stay at home moms do, find a craft to make and sell on etsy. Done, now you can get what you want

What the hell is etsy? And I've decided to trade. Yesterday I needed towed home and could have used recovery points

Go look it up. It's a way for you as a stay at home person to make money. Then you don't need threads like this
