Default Front axle with adjustable control arms question

Ok so I just made this so I could ask some technical questions I couldn’t get an answer for, so to start 1992 xj with 3-3.5” lift in the works I have adjustable control arms from b Lee’s not long arms The rear is done and lifted. I’m wanting to know if I can push my axle forward by say 1/2 an inch with my control arms and not have any interference with my b Lee’s steering or anything else for a little better fender clearance. So instead of my lowers being 16” in that size lift I’d like to go 16.5” and same with the top as well 15” to 15.5” to keep original geometry?

Try It and see what happens, keep an eye on your front pinion angle.

will do man im hoping it works out because I plan on doing plenty of cutting but since I didn’t check stock pinion angle what degree should I be looking for on the front and where should I put my angle finder to find it?

I've done this on my 2000 Cherokee with 35s. Extended the wheel base by one inch and now have no wheel clearance issues. The caster angle (pinion angle) can be checked by putting an electronic level (cell phone) on top of the upper ball joint.

You can also check caster by putting a magnetic angle finder on the bottom of the knuckle.

ok thanks guys hoping I have this thing buttoned up this week just waiting on the bilstiens to come in and tires should be here shortly after I hope to post back. One question rock head my main concern was the panhard bar but by the looks of yours everything still mounts in the factory location? No new holes or anything?

I ran a 17" LCA on mine with a 3" lift and a .75 spacer. I had to add a lot more to the UCA length to have a reasonable pinion angle and caster angle than the equal amount of stretch to the lowers . trac bar and steering was not effected. Check out my build thread, its in there somewhere.

Ok perfect so really get it sitting at ride height then start adjusting my pinion angle with my uppers and since that’s the case I’ll just stretch mine on out to 17” on my lowers

Make sure there's clearance of the Steering Stabilizer bolt where the tie rod attaches to the drag link.
Stretching the wheelbase made mine close with the ZJ tie rod upgrade and drop pitman arm on 8" lift.

Thanks BMoney I don’t think I’ll have A issue there because I’m going to hiem jointed steering with a drag bar and ditching the ylink so I’ll have stock axle end mount for the stabilizer and then add a 1.5” tubing clamp with a stud for the steering side attachment

I had no fitment or clearance issues with the steering components after extending the wheel base one inch.
