frame rail rust
I recently posted about rusted leaf spring mounts, that problem was taken care of. Now I have to weld in new floors. I want to undercoat everything.
My problem is on the frame rail. There is a bit of surface rust along the frame rails. What should I do.
I have a welder and a shop full of tools. Any advise is aprreciated

Grind off the surface rust. Don't forget to do the "top" or inside of the frame rails when the floors are out as well, they are C-channel rails, which means they aren't enclosed and you probably have rust on the inside of the rail like I did. And X2 on the POR-15. Best rust treatment. It'll never form again if you sand a little, put some prep into it, and spray it with that stuff. Use it in the shop all the time.
