concern i have, have been stated already the arms modification isnt that strong lack of cross member bolts. other things that make me wonder is the use of a flat peice of steel for the cross member and maybe its my eyes play tricks but does the diff see more toward the center than it should?

May wanna check to see if it has cast wedges versus welded on wedges.

If they aren't cast they can be removed.

Maybe I just got lucky but both my '74 and my '76 Bronco had HP 44's in them.

From the factory the early bronco came with a dana 30 or low pinion dana 44.But you can narrow down a full width or change out the center to a high pinion. What size u joint did either of them use?

On the '76, I honestly couldn't tell you. I never pulled an axle shaft out of that one. It lived it's life on the street the short time I had it. The '74 on the other hand was not stock and had CTM's in it.

I went over to a buddies today and checked the Dana 44 in his '74 Bronco and it was in fact of the LP variety. Here all this time I thought the HP were stock to that era Bronco. Guess I learned something new today!
