Default Ford 8.8 questions

I know this has probably been beaten to death already but I just want to make sure I pick the right axle and I'm new to the whole forum action. From what I've seen the 8.8 comes in explorers, mustangs and some rangers. what I dont know are the years that come with lsd's, 3.73's, or 4.10's. I also dont know if the ones coming out of the mustangs are the same as the rangers and explorers(as far as mounts go). If someone could shed some light on this for me that would be awesome!

you dont want the ranger or mustang one. you want a 95+ explorer axle. it has disk brakes and 31 spline axle shafts. not sure if you know this but you will have to cut off the old brackets and weld on new ones to make it work under your cherokee. ruff stuff makes a nice kit: http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...g/88SS-31.html

Yeah I've got a buddy who welds as a living I was going to give him a 6 pack and a burger lol. I was really more worried about length of the axle over all. I also am planning on doing the hack n' tap and using a front driveline. Do you need any adapters to make that drive line with with the 8.8?

Take a look at the link I posted earlier in this thread....
The kit contains the parts you'll need to make the installation a breeze.

just did the swap myself super easy and agreed 95 and up for disc 91 and up for drum you will need wheel spacers axle is 1.5 inches narrower than stock. did mine without any drive line issues. just remember to set your pinion angle the same as what your running unless you really don't like u joints
