Ford 8.8 on CL...Potential?
i wanna do a ford 8.8 swap into my new XJ cus it has a D35...gross i know, but anyway i found a housing for 50 bones and was curious if i could drop this right into my XJ (i know i need to do some welding/cutting brackets and such) but i'm mostly curious about the axle length and other stuff that directly pretains to just kinda trowing it under when i finish it... Thanks!!

Too wide, and crappy gearing.
I'd go to your local scrap yard and ask for a 4.10 geared Ford 8.8 with LSD and disc brakes from a 95+ explorer. They're 1/2 inch narrower than an XJ axle and pretty easy to bolt in.
