Flush Mount External Speaker for CB
I decided to go with a Cobra 75 Cb so I can stow it away when not in use and generally these days they are used more for trail communicatioon than emergencies...
I mean when have cell phones and personal locators or atleast I do when out exploring in the desert.
So one of the biggest complaints with the 75 is the speaker so i came up with a solution for mounting and external speaker but yet keep a stock look to it...
Purchased a small external CB speaker and removed the speaker from its case and mounted it...
it works great and keeps a somewhat stock look.
Installed...next to my arb F & R and compressor switches..

It does have an internal speaker in the mic but it has an output for an external speaker in the junction box (someone thought ahead) . Adding an external speaker allows for more volume, sometimes it can be difficult to hear on the road or trail just utilizing the built in speaker in the mic.
here is a better shot.
The far left is a dual usb port, I removed the cig lighter...Then removed the 12V outlet on the right to a dual one mounted under the dash on the passenger side.

I have the same radio and have found it to have an excellent internal speaker that can be heard on and off road with windows up or down. This makes a very good CB for a trail radio and size.
I have 2 amateur band radios with remote control heads mounted also, for them I do have a remote speaker hooked to the Jeeps speakers with the control heads mounted under the passenger side front seat. Here you only see one on the flexible mount, it fits closer to the console than shown. I cover all bands from 2m/432, 50w on UHF/VHF, 6m up to 160m with 200w output on HF.
