Flowmaster 44 question

Hello, I just bought a Flowmaster 44 muffler for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. The Flowmaster is 13" long, but the stock muffler is 20" long. As you know, the muffler is in front of the rear axle, so the tailpipe is bent for go up and over the rear axle. If I install the muffler the "hump" of tailpipe that allows it to go over the rear axle will not line up. Is there some sort of spacer i could attach (not weld; I dont have, nor am I, a welder) to the begining of the tailpipe (closest to muffler) that would extend the tailpipe that extra 7" to make up for the smaller muffler?

Go to your auto part store they have pieces of exhaust pipe that you could cut to length to make everything line up again.

Or get the Flowmaster 60, which is much closer to the right size...

Too expensive. I got the 44 because it was $55 on Amazon...

Get some new pipe like mentioned, since you don't weld look into clamps like these http://m.summitracing.com/parts/dtc-789-70250 the specific name is a band clamp, of course match your sizes/ joint style as needed, and ive seen them for cheaper than 20$ each so shop around, but if you can't weld or gain access or pay someone to do so imho this is the best DIY way of a secure leak free connection without welding.

IIRC advace auto parts had all the right size pipe and clamps you'll need. Make sure yo uget the innlet sticker off too cause it does not smell good as it burns off lol

If you are wanting to go out the back do what these guys said, i put on one last year with dual outs on the 44 and just dumped them right after the muffler right before the rear axle, all you would need is a turn down, but mine is a little loud, just a option.
