Fixed or Adjustable Arms?
Here is my situation, I just bought a used Rubion Express extreme duty 5.5" lift (has the drop brackets). It came with the used original fixed upper and lower arms, ends in good shape and a set of brand new adjustable arms (the more expensive ones). Both have rubber bushings at one end and a joint on the other. What can the asjustable ones offer in terms of performance? My jeep will not be a daily driver, and with the drop brackets i dont know if there will be any appreciable improvement in off road flex. I will sell one of the two sets either way, but the new ones are 500 new so I can get alot more for them. And I need a winch bumper so I could either trade or barter for one. So I guess I am asking which is better on a 99% offroad truck, the new adj arms, or the original RE arms and a winch bumper?

i ran the older 5.5 kit also for 5 years, with the fixed arms.
as long as you're staying at the 5.5 inches, and use the drop brackets, you will be fine with the fixed arms. just get an alignment with print out to see if everything is in spec. if not, you may need to use the adjustable arms.
but i would sell them arms to get your winch bumper. that's what i would do.
i am gonna throw my old kit in my other jeep just to have another wheeler in the fleet.

Other advantage of adjustables, is if you run bigger tires, you can scoot your axle forward to keep the tires from hitting inner fender wells.

I will probably end up using the adjustable arms. Mainly because I am going to try to run 35's and I might need to add a little extra lift and being able to move the front axle forward will be a big help.
