few questions about, sye/hack n tap, gears/lockers, steering, and what next
I have An 89 cheroker with about 8 inches of lift. I need a sye/hack n tap. Kinda on a budget and have to Do it myself. What do u reccomend I go with and any certain name product? I also have a d30 and an 8.25 with aussie lockers front and rear with 35s. I need to regear, what gear do I need and. What all do I need to buy to install them? Someone said new carrier but I'm locked so idk. I also have rustys 1 tone sterring upgrade. Whay should be my next step in build? Already have bumpers and axles are out of question
Thanks
Thanks

the hack and tap works just order the kit and get the bits with it, a front drive shaft from xj is cheaper at the u pull it yard you might have to make it longer any way its a time consuming process the shaft is hard as hell i ended up using carbide bits from harbour freight about 5 bucks for a kit of five drill slow dont push it youl snap the bits same with tapping plenty of oil and back and forth back and forth

i wouldn't go any deeper than a 4.56 gear in a d30, and you'll need a 3.73+ carrier and master install kits along with the gears.
setting up gears is one of those "if you have to ask, you should probably have it done proffessionaly." theres a lot of time that goes into setting up gears CORRECTLY, correctly being the main part

if your going for cheap here then find some axles someone already geared and then swapped for dana 60's or something... you save a ton of money... you can buy them anywhere... but if your asking that then u may be better off just dropping it off in a shop... because u can easily order the wrong stuff... and your looking at spending like well over a grand to re-gear...
