Lightbulb A few mods on the way......

Hi everyone im new to the forum. im working on my 90 xj and just got it running after the whole front was smashed in. its been running good after a new fuel pump, all injectors (flowmached) big diffrence, tps sensor and a full tune up. it was sitting for 6 years. but anyways im doing a 4.5in RC lift aready ordered from ebay. it has front coils, lower a-arms, sway bar end links, add a leaf, drop shackles, transfer drop. just wondering if theres anything i should change when i install the kit. i was thinking adj track bar, new spring isolators. im going to run 31x10.50x15 tires with a 15x8 rim with 3.75 backspace. any other susgestions?? and if someone need help with engine related stuff let me know. im a mechanic

thanks for you time

adjustable track bar for sure and get a slip yoke eliminator kit. Use the SYE not a t-case drop, literally every person I know with a tcase drop has broken shift linkages and their Jeeps eat motor mounts.

i was thinking a sye but i figure if i use poly 1in up mounts and the t-case drop the angle wont be so bad. and mine auto no shift linkage issues. but yeah ill for sure get the adj track bar. i dont want to drill a hole to relocate it. later down the road ill get ss brake lines and quick disconect end links. but for now think it will be fine with the current setup.

I am talking about transfer case linkage. Everyone I know with broken ones have autos. The drop puts the case at a weird angle which binds up the factory linkage and it breaks.
Plus slip yokes suck, mine makes a vibration I can feel over the tire noise from my TSLs at 70mph, has about 1/8" of play. And my Jeep is not lifted.

Slip yokes do suck, that's why you need to eliminate it :P also don't forget longer brake lines all around. Id also recommend getting full leaf packs to replace that aal; Its going to wreck your springs.

Something to do with the shape of the new leaf not matching the old ones and causing strange pressure points under load. I think it accelerates the wear on them. I had barely decent springs that I threw an aal in, they were slightly de arced in 6 months.

I think it has a lot to do with the condition of the existing leaf pack.. Old springs aren't gonna last long with just one new leaf to help. But I see what your saying, it's def not out of the realm of possible. I want more peeps to chime I on this one!!

i'm also in the "an add a leaf ruined my pack'' support group. save your money and do it right...get a full pack and never look back...hey that rhymes.

You are supposed to drop the linkage mount also when doing a tcase drop

And check your pinion angle for the vibrations.

Dont get me wrong, drops suck strictly on the basis of loosing ground clearance. But they can work if you cant afford an sye right away
