Ok I want to start a thread about winches. If u have one you should put the brand and size and what u paid for it along with a short review. I hope this thread can help some people out with their decision.

I have a Mile Marker 8000 that I got off Craigslist and it was only 3 mths old for 200. A little noisey but I love it. The control is nice with the toggle grip. I pulled a Yj at a 90 degree angle out of a ravine that the bank was 5ft tall.

The best I ever ran was a Warn 9.5XP. I got it for only 990.00, and it is Warns fastest winch
under load, plus the solenoids handled long hard pulls.
It had 125 ft of 5/16s cable which came in handy on a couple of snow runs.
With the Blazer I had it on weighing almost 6800 lbs it really got a good work out.
The winch I have to go on the Cherokee is a Warn HS9500I, all I know about it is that it works
and has 100 ft of 3/8 synthetic winch rope.

Holy crap batman! I have a m8000 and I got it for around $550 new before $50 mail-in-rebate. I haven't used mine yet because I'm still setting up my mounting. I'm setting it up to plug into 2" receivers. I have 20 ft. of 2awg wire to run to the rear and quick-disco plugs. Trying to figure out a way where I can get a good quick connection on another vehicle in case I can't get to my receivers (I usually have the problem of being the worst stuck of the group).

yeah, the m8000 has come down quite a bit in price. they go for around 600 now with many offering specials to compare to U.S. pricing.

I have a Smittybilt XRC10, $426 (After tax) and then an idiot with an H2 sold a XRC10 synthetic cable to me for $50... so $476 for it all, haven't REALLY used it yet, pulled out a car on the side of the road, a few ATV's, and yanked some bushes out of the ground for my neighbors... turned a weekend worth of digging and such into an hour or so of winching... wish I filmed it, was pretty awesome.

i should also say that we have a brand new titan 10,000 for the wifey's tj. my buddy owns the company, so we got it for 350 bux.
but my next winch will be a warn 8274 for blue and the m8000 will go to either my 93xj or my tj.
