Factory Tow Package Shocks or Aftermarket Shocks?
Top left of the shock
Top right of the shock.
So I was [attempting] to pull the transmission and transfer case from a 93 XJ today when I look at the rear Shocks and notice a wire coming out of both of them, or so I think it is a wire or a tube. I traced the tube from on shock... to the other shock. That wire/tube went directly from one shock, to the other, and a decent amount of slack was wrapped up a bit and shoved between the gas tank protective pad and gas tank. They don't look like a typical shock so I'm kind of curious if they are something special that I should pull before someone else notices. Also when I tried to move the rear suspension (which should've moved a little bit with my putting all my weight on the drum) up and down, it was rock solid. I did the same to the front axle and it moved a little bit so I'm wondering if these Shocks are some super heavy duty trailer towing Shocks because there was a trailer hitch on it. But there was a D35C :/ anyways here's a pic.

Thats are you standard aftermarket air shocks nothing fancy or rare at all. What air shocks are used for is when you tow sometimes the rear of the car/truck or whatever it is squats down,Well thats not good and the air shocks you add air to a fill valve tell you level the car back out to make it safer to drive towing.

Honestly id never use air shocks on something that don't have a full frame on it.And today id run a helper air bag over them since it add a load point to a shock like a air shock does.
