My 89 Cherokee has been violently shaking every time I accelerate. It had been doing this before until I changed my shims to a different degree, and it subsided for a little bit, but now it is doing it again. When I coast it doesn't do it, only when accelerating. Help

Check your u-joints in both shafts and the telescope in the front for play. Whenever my u joint in my rear driveshaft goes, I can't get over 30 without feeling like I'm gunna die.

It is almost certainly the top u joint is shot on your rear driveshaft. Take off your rear driveshaft, put it in 4 wheel drive and see if it is gone. Also make sure that both bolts are tight on your tranny support member where it connects to the tranny.

But I bet it is a bad u joint. Take it in to a shop and have both replaced. It will cost 50 to 75 bucks. Taking it off is a breeze.
