Hmmm, that's pretty surprising. The YJ rear line is 4" longer than stock while the Dakota is 6" longer. Everybody I know that's switched over uses the YJ Fronts and the Dakota rear.

For the bolts, you using any heat on them before wrenching? That's helped me out a few times. If they do break, just drill and tap. For the brake lines, you should only need to replace the soft line and be good. Just make sure to have some extra brake fluid for the longer line when you bleed the brakes.

You're only changing out the soft line going from the frame bracket to the axle block so they should be fine. If you're really worried about them breaking, use a razor and slice the soft line so it comes off easier. Clean up the hard lines as best you can and put the new soft line on.

if youre wanting to have a functional ebrake, you need to pick up some ebrake cables from a 91 yj, you'll need TWO passenger side cables. they're about 10" longer than stock XJ.

Good call. I've never understood why they made the e-brake cable so much longer on those things.

[QUOTE=no rdplz;898344]Sorry, the axle end does have a new box. I was only talking about the slicing the line so it's out of the way. For both ends, just spray the hard line flare nuts real well with some PB blaster and they'll disconnect easily. I've done it enough times between mine and others I don't even think about it anymore. Sorry for the confusion.
its ok lol i was like wait that is he talking about. so no heat then?
