Default extended control arms + drop brackets?

Ok... I have a shot at picking up a set of RE control arm drop brackets & braces for a REALLY good price. My question is, can I run my current 16.5" sky jacker LCAs with the drop brackets @ 5" of lift or will that mess up things on the front end? Any suggestions?

you could probably get away with it. At that height, i would want some adjustables.

Biggest problem will be pinion angle. Those brackets can manageably be used with the stock LCA's at that height. Your longer arms paired with the brackets and you may get some vibes. As mentioned previously, adjustable are the way to go.

I think yes for the LCAs but you may need to get adjustable uppers to fix the pinion angle.

Now my brain is flipped around.

That is a fine option as well. In general, Ive found the best "mentality" is to use LCA's to adjust caster/pinion angle, and UCA's to re-center the axle in the wheel well. Since you already have fixed lowers, you can run adjustable uppers, with the risk being you're wheels will be forward in the wheel arches, and you might run into slip yoke length issues. More than likely though, adj. uppers will be a very good option for you.

If you decide to go with adjustable uppers, I have a set of adjustable upper BDS arms I am selling.

I think I'll try it. If I get vibes I'll just pull them back off. I'm trying to get this jeep back to where it's fun to drive. Right now I drive it and just worry, and that gets old. I'm not worried about safety as that's all good, but I do have some funny sounds and vibrations that get to me and I think those may stem from the upper control arms being too short.
