Exhaust valve seal lifting up.
I got a 2686 head that has been dipped, fluxed, resurfaced and pressure tested. Everything tested fine, well got home installed new valve guide seals. I usually do when I get heads back from machine shop. Well this is when the problem started got everything finished up started up no problems, well couple days later upgraded injectors but didn't connect #6 so after doing all of that the 6 cylinder wasn't getting a complete burn indicating by the plug. Pulled the valve cover off and noticed 6 again on the exhaust side valve seal was lifted. Replaced all valve seals once again with some better felpro gaskets, and noticed there was a intake and exhaust seals and the other ones were all the same.
fast forward about 2 months later noticed oil leaking out of the exhaust on idle and excessive oil consumption. Pulled valve cover off and noticed that 3,4,5,6 all exhaust seal lifted up.
Question is why is this happening? I'll post pics of head, seals ,deck and the valves when I get back in the shop.

You're sure it's oil coming out of the exhaust? If you're losing that much oil because of the seals lifting up you have excessively worn valve guides.

I thought about that too but had no problems before when head was taken off just the head gasket was leaking oil from the pass side.
I'm not positive about the exhaust leaking oil. But looking at the head again the intakes are black as if oil gotten in there. The exhaust ports are white to light gray but 2, 3, 4, and 6 are burned white with black build up on the top.
It bearly passed emissions this and it should of failed to smoke but they let it slide. The jeep runs pretty good still even thought it had this problem only really thing that has been noticed is longer crank time then it dies unless you give it some gas if no throttle, it does but starts back up and no problem And it only smoke when idle . I have another head that I can swap out if I have to I just hate to spend another 100 bucks on getting it checked out and then that not even being the problem.

Are you using "positive" valve seals that you have to tap down in a friction fit to the guide?

You know I really don't know the felpro kit is SS70819. I was reading about that early this morning about the two different types of seals, I did pay attention since there were in two different packages one for intake, one exhaust.
Thinking back I didn't tap either one to seat either is user error I believe. I installed the first set after back from machine shop on the bench. and only had one move, the second set I did on the jeep and had four move.

I forgot to post back what was found, well..... some idiot long before me decided to do a valve job and put new guides in, well they failed to mention that they are nissan guides and that would explain why they wouldn't seat compeltely down, one of the old timers at the machine shop found it and told me what they did, lucky he had a set laying around took it back for testing again and passed with flying colors.
