Engine Mount Melting
I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on a problem I'm having. The driver side engine mount is too close to the headers and the rubber part is starting to melt. Is there any way to keep this from happening? I bought a new engine mount but I don't want to put it in till I can prevent this one from melting

Yep. You could fab up something out of light aluminum. Keep it away from the motor mount. You want it to block the radiant heat, and allow air to flow behind it.

Hey guys sorry for no reply, thanks for the input I went ahead and welded a piece between the headers and mount and wrapped that with heat reflective material.so far so good thanks for the help.

I had an aftermarket poly motor mount that melted, drivers side. Replaced with stock rubber, no issues.

Things like this are why i always spend the money for ceramic coated headers. Most v8s bare steel headers can melt spark plug wires,And with the xjs 4.0 the header is close to the motor mount so i can see it getting hot enough to melt it.
