Engine knock

Hey guys. I'm kind of puzzled with what's been going on with my Jeep so I figured I'd throw it out there and see what y'all think. I've been having low oil pressure, so I put a thicker oil in my Jeep which temporarily fixed the problem, but I'm thinking my oil pump may be garbage? Any other reasons why I'd have wicked low pressure? Another thing- I've been having an engine knock on and off and I'm not sure why... Before I pull it apart, I was wondering if anyone had any similar problems? Please help! I don't want my baby Jeep dying on me one week before I have to drive it all the way to Florida!

cracked head/bad head gasket maybe? what about coolant levels? is coolant disappearing? this is like, worst case scenario, so i doubt if this is it...
a bad pump could be it. have you done compression tests or anything to diagnose?
