Default Engine cutting out at 3000 rpm

My 01 jeep Cherokee with a4.0 is cutting out at 3000 rpm, like it is hitting a rev limiter, and the check engine light is flashing.. I just recently swapped the engine, and replaced the cam shaft position sensor, but the problem is persisting.. I have been dealing with it for over a year.. I believe it is ultimately what led to my other engine going to ****.. There was a similar question on this site from another jeep owner from a couple of years ago, wondering if he ever figured it out.. I'm nearly at my wits end.. I can reset the computer and it will run fine for 5 miles or so, then the problem comes back.. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

What's the code reader say?

Flashing CEL is bad. Maybe coil pack/s going/gone?

Multiple misfires.. But plugs and injectors are in good shape, and not that old.. Could it be a issue with the wiring harness??

What's your ignition look like- battery and all cables/grounds, coil packs, TB sensors: TPS, IAC valve, o2's are suspect, too.

I know this thread is a couple of months old but was this ever solved. I’m having the same issue and getting tired of trying to read through post with the same issue that just end with no solution. Would be awesome to see what fixed it if it was fixed
