Default Eliminating leafs for a softer/flexier ride?

2000 xj 180k
2" Old Man Emu HD leafs
2" Old Man Emu springs
2" Teraflex BB (Shackle and spacer)
Bilstein 5100s all around.

I have had the lift installed for about a year now and I was honestly expecting the ride quality to be alot better with these shocks.
I actually am not hauling anything heavy at all. (Like I had originally planned for)

(shocks were off in picture)

I am wondering how many/ which leafs should I eliminate for a better ride quality?
Right now the best way I can describe it is,
Extremely stiff. Feels very similar to a car on coilovers with high spring rates (minus the great handling

Check your shackle angle.

My packs are thicker, have more leaves, and suck because my shackle angle is bad.

...so...pan the pic to the left a tad so we can see where its sitting. The bottom of the shackle, where it attaches to the leaf spring should be further back from the top bolt on the shackle, making a 45* diagonal line..

That is why I like stock leafs the best.

Anyways, you can remove the second or third leaf. However you won't have the same ride height you previously had.

I wouldn't take leaves out. Fix your shackle angle, the shackles should be around a 45 degree angle. I have HD leaves (not OME though), and mine are pretty soft. I actually wish my HD leaves were stiffer, I don't like them this soft, but they're a lot better than the stock springs.

Shackle angle dude. That's all it is. It will make or break your rear suspension.

Ill play. The plural for a leaf spring is not leaves spring. It's leaf springs. You are shortening the term "leaf spring" when you say "leaf"; therefor when you shorten "leaf springs" you get "leafs".

Installed these on a friends jeep and they are really nice. Deffenitely a must for someone who has a bad shackle angle.

you need something to put your shackle at a 45 degree angle and maybe get some softer shocks? Im running bilstein 5100's on the rear of my xj and it rides really smooth and they are stable.
Picked them up from http://lowrangeoffroad.com for about $150 shipped to me
