electrical fan wiring

I've searched all over, i added a new imperial fan to keep the engine cool, the only issue is the wiring is not working so i decided to run a switch inside the cab to turn the fan on and off(with a relay).. is there anyone out there that could put up a diagram of how the wiring is supposed to be, i hooked it all up, and it's not working properly. help !!! please!

I dont have a diagram but what are you using for the power source for the switch?

This is a simple explanation from mine:

Power from interior ignition fuse to switch
Switch to relay, relay grounded to body
Power from exterior fuse panel to relay
relay to fan
fan grounded to body

Power from battery should go the the relay, make sure there is a fuse in line. Then from the relay to the fan. Run you'll run a power wire from the switch to the relay, and anoher from the switch for a ground iirc. After that run a ground from the fan to a good ground. That should be it. But this was real fast and from my phone, so wait for confirmation.

**this way the fan will work with your key in or not. The above suggestion will prevent that, safe guarding from accidental battery draining.
