It would cause you to get 10-12 mpg instead of 16ish. oh and eat up your fuel system

Not sure where you would look but E85 compatible fuel hose, but you would also have to replace gaskets and such throughout the system and since the Cherokee was never made for E85 it would be hard to find parts from other vehicles that might fit the various fuel system gaskets...

Would probably be better off going Propane.

A couple years ago I had a 95 Nissan altima beater that I ran e85 in for about 4 months straight. It idled rough, the mileage went from 25mpg down to about 19-20mpg. It ran ok for about a month or so but progressively got worse. After I went back to petro gas it ran fine. I have often wondered how a high comp turbo or supercharged engine would run on e85 since it has a high octane rating. I had a wrx the same time as the altima but didn't have the kahunas to run e85 in it lol.

Hehehehe.. so much myth in here....

First... there hasn't been any natural rubber used in fuel systems since the early 80's...

Viton/rubber blends will gold up to e85.. just not indefinitely. My flex-fuel vehicles use stainless steel in the fuel system...

Some of the 4.7's came from Chryco as flex-fuel vehicles...

I usually run E 20-30 blend in my off-road 90 XJ.. you wouldn't know any difference at all. But its only an off road toy.. so I don't have any MPG.. its much closer to F(eet)PG..

and I run E20 in my 5.2 whenever the price spread warrants it. The pricing has sucked lately. But there isn't any real difference in MPG from E10-E20...
