E Brake Removal

While installing my lift kit I noticed my e-brake cables are maxed out. Nowhere have I read about what to do with them on my '89 xj. Do I do away with them? Or get extensions?

Replace with longer cables or you can maybe relocate the retaining bracket on the frame rail to get a little more length.

get 2 passenger side cables from a 91-95 Wranger. They're 70 long vs the 54 the stock xj cables are.
