Default dumb question on wheels....

had a set of really nice rims givin to me and the lug pattern is 5x4.1/2
the size i need to fit is 5x4.1/4, is there any such device made to make these work such as a spacer to change the bolt pattern.......I dont think there is but I was told otherwise.

If there for a jeep. The bolt pattern is 5x4.5 on jeeps anyways so no need to change them.

BUt yes, you can get some wheel spacers that change the bolt pattern. Spendy little things though.

Default its a jeep cherokee sport 92 model

and the bolt pattern is 4 1/4 not 1/2, the rims are 1/2 thats why they wont work.....what are the spacers for changing the pattern called if ya know so I can look them up. the wheels I had givin to me are not cheap wheels and it may be worth buying the spacers aor what ever they are

i might be wrong but im going with "thedale" im nearly 100% sure that your jeep has (or had) a lug pattern 5x4.5. have you tried to put them on? and if they are something like this should work. http://compare.ebay.com/like/1805354...c0a064379326f3

Default WOW!!

Them lil jokers are pricey.........but thanks for the link . and I did measure the wheels again and they are as I said. 5x4.25 on the jeep and the wheels I wanted to use are 5x4.50 my neighbor has the same cherokee as I and his are the 5x4.50, dunno why mine is different. they are the same damn jeep year and all. its weird but it is what it is. anyhow thanks again, I guess i'll sell the rims and get something different.I really like these wheels....lol

You never said what vehicle you were trying to put them on, we are assuming an XJ since this is a Cherokee forum. Are you sure the center bore of the wheel is even big enough?

Yeah, the 5 lug pattern is the only one that measures back to center. Got me when I started wrenching on my rigs too.
