Default Ducts over vents or spacers

Has anyone ever done Naca Ducts instead of hood spacers/vents?

I have 280zx vents. While spacers do work they can also cause your hood to come flying at your neck/head in a collision. I'm trying to picture these ducts on an XJ and I just don't see it looking good. I would go with some sort of vents.

About a 15 - 20* drop in temp. My entire XJ is bedlined however, it acts as a damn good insulator, including in the engine compartment. My drops in temp are probably nowhere near what a normal XJ would see.

Is that coolant temp or underhood temp drops?

Both. I spent $500+ on replacing/upgrading the cooling system and still couldn't get it to stay below 220*. Hood vents finally solved my issue, stays right around 205 - 210 now.

Not bad, they have kind of a weird shape though. I was able to cut the hood with a 4 1/2" angle grinder and I drilled the vents and riveted them to the hood. Used some rtv to seal the overlapping edge to the hood.
