Driveshafts and U-joints - school me

How can you tell if you have a forward driveshaft issue as well as how to detect a bad u-joint?

shake it bro, if there is movement or play in the shaft , odds are the joint is done.... I just changed all of my u joints with spicers.... it was a decent project.

Hmmmm, mine doesn't have any play when I pull on it up and down or side to side, but the front turns a bit. I'm taking it that it's normal.

Just trying to put an end to these vibes. Sick of dealing with it and I'm sure people on here are sick of hearing about it as well.

Driveshaft u-joints should be checked with no load on the driveshaft. Jack the rear axle up or block the wheels, put your tranny in neutral and then check for play in the joint. Any play at all (up/down, side to side) and the u-joint should be replaced.

Thanks Serious, I'll check them later today when I have the chance.
