So I installed a hack and tap and after measuring multiple times I still feel as though I mucked it up. My center of ujoint to ujoint measurement is roughly 33”. Is my driveshaft extended too far? (Stock xj front shaft from a 92 4.0 auto).

Also so I now have vibration most notable from 25 to 35 mph. How do I go about measuring for correct shims and will I need new leaf spring pins?

ive researched and researched and have only confused myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, 1992 4.0 aw4 C8.25 with roughly 4.5 lift in the rear soon to be slightly more one I install shackle relocation brackets to alleviate bad shackle angle and try to get closer to 5-5.5 to match the front.

thanks ronnie. I won’t lie I was pretty nervous about cutting that output shaft.

All of that hat being said I have some angle measurements, hopefully someone can help out as again as I researched this I only confused myself.

Output shaft (best eyeball measurement I could get without taking off the driveshaft) 5*.
Driveshaft measurement 18*.
Pinion measurement (again best eyeball off the shaft and flat sections of the diff housing) 5*.

Am I right to think that 6* shims puts me within 1*?
