Driveshaft help

2 Attachment(s)
Have a 95 jeep Cherokee with 4.5" of lift and my rear drive shaft is too short it's pulling from tcase I can't afford a sye kit right now. It measures 31" from end of loop on driveshaft to other end. When I get to 55 mph it sound like it's hitting my floor. Would a extended slip yoke work or is there a grand Cherokee rear shaft that work? I attached pics I think if I had about a 32" one it work with a little axle shim. Any help be great ?

Axle shim.

How many degrees do you think?

Try about 4 degrees. That's what it took for my 4.5" lift to quiet up driveline noises

Pictures help determine this. Best ways degree dial harbor freight. Extended shackle will also help but adds lift.

1 inch t-case drop should help take care of vibes till you get a SYE.

Yea already got a tcase drop

haha, didn't even notice that.

looks like you're gonna need a longer shaft.

you may try using a YJ slip yoke, but that really only gives you a better cut for u-joint movement. i can't remember if it has a longer slip yoke.

I'm putting a rustys long travel yoke and 6 degree shim and see if that helps

I'd say go with 4* shims for now. Most likely those same shims will put your DS angle within spec when you can afford SYE and new DS.

Yea I'll get a sye down the road but just right now I gotta get the vibrating down it only does once u get above 45 mph but sounds like it's beating the floor out

Didn't need to shorten one on my 4.5

I'm gonna try the 3 degree shim I bought and the new yoke that's a little longer and has more room for u joint so I'll hopefully be done tomorrow even with it. Here's some more pics I took while on rack of the angles and stuff today
