Drivers coil rubbing on track bar frame mount
Whats up?
I have a question about a super fun noise I am hearing. When I flex, my drivers spring coil is rubbing on the frame side of the track bar mount. This happened before I was lifted, but it was noticable that the axle was shifted to the passenger side. My thought was that I could lift the Jeep and it would center the axle and I could skip the adjustable track bar. Well, the axle is almost center, but it is still rubbing when I flex.
I have been told I should drill a new hole for my track bar but in my head that would push it over towards the passenger side more.
The jeep is a 98 Cherokee with 3" lift coils, .5" spring isolator. Stock track bar, stock control arms.
from the top of the spring where the isolator sits, to the center of my passenger tire is 10.75", the drivers side is 10.5".
Any suggestions from experience?

I still cannot wrap my head around this. I am rubbing on my drivers side.
If I make my track bar longer, it will push my axle toward the passenger side and my axle is already .25" farther out on the passenger side than it is the drivers.

The track bar moves in a arch when the suspension travels up and down which can pull or push the front axle left or right depending which way the travel is up or down.In your case its either the coil spring isn't fully seated or the track bar is not the right size for the lift.

right but you have a non adjustable bar.....
It is also possible that the coil is bowed....

Is your coil seated properly? Stupid question but there's a reason. If I flex hard enough where the coil is completely unloaded it will rotate and slide forward which makes hit off everything and sounds terrible. I just tap it back in with a soft faced mallet.

They are seated properly, but the clips that hold the spring into the axle have wollowed out and dissappeared on the trail.
I am wondering, I bought the springs used from a fella, and he said he had two sets for 3" lift. One was from a F150 that gave XJ 3", and one was a 3" XJ lift. I wonder if I got the right set.

Adjust the trac bar is the solution . When xj was raised the trac bar pulls body toward passenger side the cure is longer bar or relocation bracket which pushes body back to drivers side. Springs only lift up. This bracket will fix issue...

Buying used springs is like buyng a used tooth brush not a good idea. The person selling them could be wrong or lie to you about what they are from or the lift of them. The f150 springs are a cheapo lift but will ride rougher since they have a higher spring rate.
