Default double din and climate control

so today I got my double din and fixed a few things with the 97 climate control. I would have done a write up on the climate control but it was alot of trial and eror. the vac lines are different colors on different years I have a 92 and it had different set up than my 95. but here are pictures. i will throw in pics of my sub and amp set up also.

Looks good, I had no idea the later style controls could be adapted to an earlier dash. I might have to try it on my 95.

I have a 96 Cherokee with the slider heater controls.

- Can I upgrade to the rotary controls like in the above post?
- What all is needed to perform the double din install (cutting/welding/mounting the radio)?

It is not easy. The fan wires can be cut and wired right into the new switch. The sliders cable can also be retro fit. The vac lines are very hard. The 97 has 6 lines and the older ones have like 9 so you have to figure out what does what on your car then the new controls. Then to do the double din you have to deal with cutting out and sealing that vent. It is not for anyone that is afraid to mess up or not good at cutting and fitting.

Anyone that wants to try this just let me know i will try to help as much as possible. You will need a relay for the light to work.

Hey, so my current climate control switch on my 96 is toast.(actually thew plugs in the back of it melted) Without having my old one operable, do you think i would be able to figure out which vacuum hose did what?

Sorry for thev late response. Honestly I wouldn't try. I got a piece of paper and traced every line on old and new. It's tricky cause they done have the same settings andvfor each neither are multiple hoses in use. Got luck. And you need a relay for the lights to work properly

This is an idea I've been battling with for a while, seeing this was the push I needed to finally do it.

I'm in the midst of adding a DD to my '88.
I'm going to keep my standard slider HVAC controls, but will likely remove the vents.
What was involved in doing that? I pulled the dash apart, and the wires/cable for the hvac look like they have NO give at all.... how did you manage to move them down?
And how did you go about bypassing the vents?
I'm going to jump into this blind ... so any help you can give will be very much appreciated.
