Default Dorman 929-301 leaf springs - Mexico vs Colombia?

So I ordered a pair of Dorman 929-301 leaf springs. I received one made in Mexico and one made in Colombia.

My concern is with the one made in Colombia's large bushing, it has nipples poking out of each side where the bolt goes through.

Is that weird or unusual? Will it be a problem? This is the large eye end, the end that goes towards the front.

I would use an angle grinder and cut the bushing closer.

The bushing itself looks a lot wider on the Mexico than the Colombia. More rubber sticks out. Looks like the sleeves could be the same width, and the rubber is whats different. ???

I've got to look at them closer and do some measuring. I didn't want to trim anything until I knew how/if it would fit on the XJ. Just weird that the same part from two different factories could be so different. Looks like they'd use the same bushings at least.

More concerning maybe: Over time that springs made in different factories with different materials may settle unevenly? If it were me, I would insist on a matching set.

I agree with others. Do not accept that if at all possible. I definitely wouldnt trust those springs matched like that. For a temporary thing sure use it.

As others have said, see if they will get you two that are the same.

So I looked over them and looked over them, measured and compared. Decided to go with them.

I got them from JCWhitney as I had a 20% off coupon code with free shipping, was cheaper than Amazon.

I put the Colombia one on the passenger side and the Mexico one on the driver side. Torqued everything, jumped up and down on the rear, and I'm sitting at 18.5" on both sides from center of wheel to bottom of fender. I was at 15.5" so it's nice. Hope they don't settle much and settle evenly. Right now, all is good. Pics later.

I would have bet a large sum of money that you got those from either amazon or eBay. As others have said, I would ask for a matching set.

I don't know why more people don't use these. Ordering mine soon finally for the '01. Possibly for the 98 too. Made in United States and without a doubt will get two identical spring packs. Just wish they made coils for the XJ.
