Default Do I need new rear parking brake lines after a 3 inch lift?

Everything I've read has said that you don't need new brake lines after a 3 inch lift. However every time I'm under my Jeep the brake lines I'll post a photo of concern the crap out of me. From what I can tell, these are the brake lines for the parking brake.

These lines are always tight and it's obvious that all the tension of a flex would be put on them if it were to happen. Is this normal? Do I need to concern myself with this? What brake lines should I get if this does need to be taken care of?

Have you backed off the adjustment at the equalizer where the two cables mount together?

You know what? I distinctly remember looking at that and going "Oh, that should fix this right?" then doing nothing about it. Is that all I need to do then?

It came to me after I posted that I've got disc brakes in the rear. So my parking brake adjusts independently from the rear brake system. Checked your pic and saw you've got drum brakes. Backing off at the equalizer will give slack to the cables but then you'll need to adjust the p/b some other way since that's what the equalizer is for. You could try adjusting the rear brakes after putting slack in the cables and see if it will work. Otherwise you may need different cables. I'm sure someone whose dealt with this issue will have the answer.

I believe there was a transition during '96 from equal length cables to unequal length. If yours join together in the center of the vehicle like my '96 does the cables I posted should work. OEM cables measure almost 52" and the extended ones are 71". Plus the OEM cable part # for a '96 and earlier models are the same.
